Harry Potter vs. Gandalf: Magic in J.K. Rowling, Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis

So, is Harry Potter a decent book for children to read, or chock-full of sorcery that should be avoided like the plague? Click here to find out: http://www.decentfilms.com/articles/magic.html

This essay contains the debate over Tolkien and Lewis's works vs. those of Rowling's. While Tolkien and Lewis's words were lauded, Rowling's were dismissed as "evil".

While I think it's harsh, I try to see the differences between how Tolkien and Lewis portray magic and how Rowling portrays magic. Which is quite useful in me writing my own stories.

Well, if you have any advice for me regarding the use of magic in my stories, do NOT hesitate to comment.

Thank you.
